I have noticed a company called seven-tenths advertising on SB for clothing. I went to the website and they have some cool stuff. Two questions:
1. They are overseas, anyone order and did they have trouble?

2. Where does the term seven-tenths come from? Obviously diving... Is it a metric or Euro thing?

That makes sense, it never occurred to me to look at the big picture.

They are a well-known brand in the UK and around the Red Sea area. I expect that their overseas shipping system would be robust and reliable.

My guess would be either the % of water cover on the planet, or a loose approximation of N content of air?

Have dealt with them on several occasions, great products, and great service. Getting shirts from the UK isn't exactly cheap, but very worth it (Top Gear shirts too...)

It is the portion of Earth covered by water for clarification :)

Just a guess....approximate proportion of the Earth's surface that's covered with water?
That, or the profit margin on logo-ed sportswear.

a loose approximation of N content of air?
I guess 8/10 doesn't have the same ring?

No, because it is annoying to see 8/10 instead of 4/5 :)

Gore and Moore says they should change their name to 11/15ths

... and yes, they do ship to the USA. They are ongoing advertisers and used as contest awards in the UK dive magazines.

Seven-tenths are a big diving clothing manufacturer in europe, africa and asia.

And yes afaik its "7/10s of the earths surface is water"
