Is there anywhere I can post some videos I've shot for others to view? I really enjoy shooting video and love to share it with others that may enjoy seeing it. I'd also like to get some pointers to make myself better.
Problem is they have been edited and they range from 100mb to 200mb in size. Is there a place that allows me to upload them for anyone on the site to download and view them?
Thanks
Jason

100mb is way too large to share videos over the internet. It will take too long for people to download. I suggest compressing your videos. The resolution will decrease, but so will file size and in turn download time. Try Windows Media encoder which you can download free from microsoft.

I have many of my videos on my website. Largest file is 22 mb. Try downloading a few of my videos to get an idea of the relationship between file size, download time, and video resolution.

If you get your file size down below 20 mb, I don't mind temporarily hosting it on my site.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have used that program on my largest file and it is now down to 24 Meg. I may take you up on that offer to use your site but would like to hear options from anyone else.
Files are now from 14-24 Meg. Anyone else have any suggestions.
PS: Looked at some of your videos. Looked pretty nice. I'll look at the rest of them later.
Thanks for your help

You could also make your own webpage. If all you want to do is share videos, you don't actually need a webpage. A domain name and a web host will do. For example, if I wanted to show people my Turks & Caicos video, they don't HAVE to go to my website.

They can link it directly to stream: "left click" or download: "right click, save target as"

www.ronrosa.com/tcp2.wmv

I use www.Allenhost.com $8.75/year for my domain name, $6/month for web hosting.

Good luck, hope to see your video.

Most internet providers give you 100MB or so of web-space ... not all, but most.

If your's does, they should have a help-page that tells you how to access this and upload movies/photos/web-pages, etc... (and how to determine what the "http" address will then be)

Thanks for your help. Hopefully I can get something up and running for people to see.

You can get by just fine with _even less_ than that. You don't need you own domain name and you don't need a web hosting service.
You can use a dynamic domain name to point to the PC you have at home and then let
people get the files off your own system. Assuming you already have a DSL line to
your house and a PC, there is zero additional cost. I have a web server runnnig on a PC under my desk at http://albertson.dyndns.org see www.dyndns.org for the free service. There are others that you can find if you do google for "dynamic DNS".

I also just put up a diving "wiki" on the same PC. You could put you vides there. Just make a new page or two and upload you files. see here for more about this http://albertson.dyndns.org/twiki/bin/view/Diving/WebHome

Cool. What are the file size and bandwidth limits ?

WHat are the limits if you use you own PC? It's up to you.

If you put some video on my new "Diving Wiki". I don't care unless it starts bogging
down my connection. But rtealistically, I don't 100 people a day will be watching
your videos Start with a small test 5MBor so and see if it works.
My upstream bandwidth is not large. People wanting to watch a video would have
to put up with 100 kilibits/sec. You might want to compress you video
down to 15 frames per second and maybe 240 lines.
If there were a lot of peole using my Wiki server I'd pay for a bit more bandwidth

There is a site on the web , called Mpegnation , that will stream a video for a flat $4.95 per video.

check them out;
