i am just about to book a trip to sipadan. I will be doing four days diving there. The company recomended that I do 2 days Sipadan, one day Mabul, and one day at Sibuan. I can't find to much info on Sibuan. Has anyone here been over there. If anyone could help me with a recommendation I would be stoked. I have to book soon, and of coarse want to do the best dives in my four days. Thanx

Sibuan is nice. I put in three dives there in February. 1. Mandarin fish, 2. turtles, 3. Crocodile fish, 4. Frog fish, 5. the usual nudis, 6. nice beach, 7. Close to Semporna, 8. Coral nothing special., 9. cheaper to dive than sipadan (no park fees)

HI,

sounds like north borneo divers or scuba junkie recommended you?

Yeah.. I just finished that trip. I went out with Scuba Junkie. Thank God I had my own equipment, as I never seen such piss poor gear. I don't recomend Scuba Junkie, but it was the easiest place for me to get my permit. I was worried about not getting it in time, and they responded quicker. It was a great trip though. Saw a lot of stuff I had been waiting to find!! I got three days in at Sipadan- Can't beat that!!

Amazing that anyone actually dives with Scuba Junkie. I found that staff horrible and the equipment even worse.

Sibuan probably better for snorkelling than to do more than a single dive there.

Hmm,

I dove with them afew years back and ehy are good then. Perhaps a change in their team of DMs and helpers?

I recall their gears are generally acceptable then. Well, have been using my very own personal set. Perhaps did not experience any that you may have come across.

I felt Sipadan was great. Mabul and Sibuan are interesting if you a Marco Photographer, but besides that kinda boring for multiple dives. I like the challenge of finding the little stuff. Mabul and Sibuan are kinda "Marco Zoos" . Great for the photographer. I wouldn't use SJ again, but survived and met some cool folks. It is true the DM's are very young and unexpirenced and the equipment makes diving an Extreme Sport. Cheers.
