never used one and never seen one in person....

rig is the same as it is in sidemount, just with stabilizer plates. Plenty of lift for a 5mm suit with these tanks.

I think that was the one and only time I subjected my poor nomad to backmount singles, but it works just fine. Was my rescue class and doubles weren't allowed due to the rescue tows. PST HP120 for reference on there.
Soft plate means that the tank doesn't try to walk off the ridge, and the two cam bands hold everything in fine. It dives more like a stab jacket than a bp/w in singles since the wing is tied down, but it's not terrible. Even with light doubles I have no issues with it and actually prefer it for lighter doubles than a traditional plate, but that is likely muscle memory with the reversed inflator.
