No issues with mine but then I learned along time ago with a cheapo reel to not tighten it too tight but to put a drop of loctite on it. Super glue would work as well as long as you were sure you'd never break the handle off. Course it is plastic and would be easy to drill and retap.

Are you talking about the shaft to body connection? That shouldn't come loose, but can be solved with lock tight. With a lot of salt water use, corrosion can build up and cause rust. We're happy to take a look at it if you want to send it in.


If you mean the winding knob to spool, we can get you a new screw.

Hi Michael,

Actually, you don't need to tighten the screw down all the way. Back it off a quarter turn or so and see if that does it.
