I have a Sea & Sea RDX-550 housing with standard port and compact dome. I am looking to upgrade my 18-55 with one of these lenses. I have heard that the Sigma 17-70 needs the fisheye dome with a large ext ring. I neither want to pay for a fisheye dome/ext ring nor do I want try to travel with one. So I am leaning towards the 17-50. Does anyone know if I can just put it behind the standard port or compact dome port? Thanks.
