Fred Garth's (Scuba Times before Peterson bought & killed it) new offering, Fathoms, is very nice.

Doesn't do any good to subscribe to a new magazine unless it covers our sport as a replacement. I made a few modifications to the titles to make them more appealing to divers.

Dude!!!!!

A little bit of spare time on your hands?!?!?!

Some of 'em are pretty funny though.

Yeah :)

I was just surprised you actually went through and changed them *all*...that's impressive.

FWIW,

I think Dive Training is the best publication out there. The articles focus primarily on techniques. Unlike the other magazines which just seem like their sponsored by the Bahamas Tourism Bureau one month, then the Cayman TB the next.

Of course, being a PADI member, I get Sport Diver and the Undersea Journal. Those are enough. :bonk:

I wholeheartedly agree Paul168341! Just awesome, the best dive magazine around. Great, quality articles, agency neutral, qualty ads on quality products not overdone, awesome future reference materials - and they know it too because they perforate the pages, they never back down from anything controversal, and they are never wishy-washy on taking a solid stand and expressing a viewpoint. They also change their mind - which is a strength not a weakness. And their editorial section - my personal favorite - contains all readers opinions good/bad/or ugly - they never back down and they don't make one last point for retribution. So many other editors have to get that one last dig in. Dive Training let's readers opinions stand on their own merits. Perfect.

Dive Training is hands down the greatest dive mag ever!

BTW - have you noticed that the editors and writers in their magazine always have an article or two about a quality subject we were just covering in a thread here on scubaboard the month before? Hmm... wonder where they are getting their material from <LOL> Plagerize away - it's flattery in my opinion.

I've seen this half a dozen times at least in the last 6 months!

you can be sure of that!

FATHOMS is a beautiful, high gloss, utterly
usless magazine. A travel mag with underwater
pretentions.
