I've been using a Sony T-20 for six years now... is my favorite little compact p&s camera and have taken some very pleasing photos with it over the years. I also use it to film training dives, for student feedback on skills... I don't want a bulkier, more expensive camera for that.
In the last month it's developed a serious issue.
Going on a dive, with fully charged battery, it operates for a while then shuts-down (auto shut-down if inactive?). It then won't power up again...! This leaves me with a dead camera for the remainder of the dive. Once on the surface, I can remove and replace the battery, and it will power up again. Battery displays as still fully charged.
Same thing happens every time, every dive.
At first, I thought it was a sign of a dying battery. I bought a new replacement, but the same problem persisted with the new one. So, it must be a camera issue, not a battery one.
Some advice would be greatly appreciated - as I'd love to keep this camera running for the foreseeable future.
Cheers,
Andy
