Purchased a new Sony Cybershot DSC-W7 camera (7.2 MP) w/enclosure. It's for my future lake dives and my trip to Cozumel at the end of June. Jumped into my pool with it yesterday and it really takes some nice pictures. I have just recently picked up the hobby of photography was wondering if anyone else had experience with this camera and/or any advice on underwater photography?...

A very nice camera. All the photos on my website were taken with one of those. A lot of fun in good water.

I definitely recommend the filter that Sony sells for the housing. I also usually increased the color saturation one notch and the exposure compensation a notch or two when underwater. Whatever setting you have in the Manual setting is what the movie mode uses, so you can make these adjustments there. I usually turned the flash off except when trying to take a closeup photo.

You will get better movies if you use Memory Stick Pro. Have at least two of these and at least two sets of batteries before you make your trip to the clear waters and start each dive with a fresh set of batteries and a fresh stick.

Take lots of pictures and lots of video, have lots of fun. :)
