The mouthpiece valves just pull out, the entire plastic cage assembly. You may have the gently pull the edges of the MP to break the tacky bond between the materials . You really should replace the valves, unless they are modern replacements, they are not acceptable for diving. The old rubber just did not hold up. The inserts are identical HOWEVER they must be installed in opposite directions to allow proper air flow.

A word of caution, it was common for the LP seat to be staked to the brass nut, it appears this one has been. The stem is brass and easily broken. I remove the nozzle as an assembly, you have to reach under the lever and remove the 2 screws and support levers then you can unscrew the assembly. It's a pain to do but can be done. With it removed you can hold the lower part of the LP seat holder and GENTLY work the nut DOWN (ON) a turn or 2. Next try to clean up the top threads with a tiny file or knife blade and finally work the nut off and on until it comes off. Back in the day, if you broke that part, the reg was not repairable, VDH has replacements now or you can use the HPR. If you get it off and want to reuse it, I suggest cleaning up the threads with a 5-40 die (NOT the more common 4-40). When you reinstall the nut, do not stake it, but lock it down with a brittle adhesive, finger nail polish work well.

Those hose clamps are the early style, they tend to be brittle, I suggest you replace those as well.

Thanks, @herman
The one ways are silicone.. In a shocking ebay twist the seller was spot on, if anything he under-sold the condition. I'll be placing my order today with VDH... I think my plan is the full cyclone and HPR upgrade, but also clean and restore the original guts for potential future projects.
Is there a current source of hookah port adapters? I know you had made a run of them, but don't know if you had any left.

I got this splitter for my DA from one of the scuba supply houses on line . Can`t remember which one but it shouldn`t be hard to find. I run my BC inflator hose and octopus off it. The 90 degree swivel I just got from Amazon for $23 shipped which is less expensive than elsewhere and really helps with the routing.

Yes, that is it. Works great and the price is good. I believe they sell a single hose adapter to.

If you are looking for a banjo to run a SPG you can find one at the Scuba Museum. It`s a 3/8th fitting so you need an old style SPG or an adapter for the newer ones.

Is that threaded directly to the port? No adapter?
