An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning on the body of Carlo Ponti, the 49-year-old diver who
died last Saturday
in the Stintino waters during a dive.
The magistrate on duty also ordered the seizure of the equipment used by the sub for further investigations, in particular on the mixture contained by the cylinders.
The expertise will serve to clarify what really happened in those few moments when by now, Carlo Ponti originally from Turin but resident in Alghero, together with his friend Francesco Luzzu, were returning from a dive.
Both were sports enthusiasts and often chose Capo Caccia as a place to admire the beauty of the seabed. The rescue operation had begun after the alarm launched by his friend, shortly before noon.
On the spot the fast patrol boat was sent and a helicopter of the fire brigade with the divers who had recovered the body, transported to the nearby port "Mannu" of the Municipality of Stintino, where the medical staff of the Emergency Department of Sassari could only do the death of the 49 year old.
After the autopsy will be decided the date of the funeral that will take place in the cathedral of Alghero.
