I was wondering if anyone has ever noticed a sharks reaction, if any, to the sound of those underwater quackers. If it turns out they don't like it, maybe you could use one to discourage the over curious.

I can't even get divers 50 feet away to notice it.

If I were a shark, I'd be attracted to the sound those things make.

A diver at Jupiter Dive Center in FL used one, or similar item, to scare off shark after the fish he just speared attracted unwanted attention. I didn't see it first hand, but a good dive buddy (DM) were there and told me about it. Evidently, it spooked the shark (reef shark) briefly, and the shark returned a minute later another blast sent it off again. This happened two or three times.
