Interesting that him paying for sex got him charged with trafficking. Is it because a minor was involved?

No, it's because he was also involved in a human trafficking ring. Paying the fifteen year old twice for sex was just one of the things he pled guilty too.

The odd thing is there is still a group of people who believe that he was just trying to help the poor girl out (of her clothes, on multiple occasions). If they had actually read his sworn testimony for his plea deal, they might realize he was full of crap. But when you throw your money around, give people a place to sleep at when they're in town, and offer to loan anyone every piece of gear you have, some people will refuse to believe court records.

He got in trouble up in NYC and was already a convicted felon when he moved to Florida. Apparently he changed his name after getting convicted in NY on some other charges. I thought the girl was actually 14 and she was from Georgia and because she was crossing state lines the feds got involved.
