Since my trip to the Dry Dock was cancelled yesterday, I switched to the Tiger trip today. Going back to work on Monday without getting wet this weekend was not what I wanted to do. Luckily, today's dive was a go. It was the first trip I took on the re-designed boat. They removed the upper sundeck from the rear of the boat to save on fuel. While, I missed having the area to help spread out on, I don't blame the new owners for trying to save fuel costs. The trip out on the Lindsey was a bit rough and some of the new students on board had some problems with motion sickness but spirits remained high.

When we reached the wreck site, there were a number of fishing boats in the area and the captain wisely chose to move to an alternative site, the Tug. For the in-shore wrecks, the Tug is a favorite of mine. I was diving with two new buddies, Jay and Gary. We were one of the first teams to splash and we were treated to 30' of visibility and a bottom temp of 68F. Gary was using his pole spear to try to catch dinner but the fish were being elusive. I left mine on the boat for the first dive and if the fish were cooperating, I planned to use it for dive #2. We finished dive number one and returned to the boat for hotdogs.

Dive number two found the visibility to be down to about 20' but improved as we ventured away from the wreck. Gary tagged his flounder. I ran my wreck reel out, on the starboard (lower section), amidships, side of the tug in an attempt to find the trolley cars people have been having a hard time locating. We located them almost immediately, straight out, about 300' off the tug. There are two that we located. We also found where the fish had been hiding.

It was a fun day diving. The crew really did a great job and were safety conscious.
