Yesterday we dove the Lowrance in the Pompano Beach area and we were blessed with a smoking current. Fortunately, the captain dropped us ahead of the current and let us free drop into the wreck. Also, since it's such a massive ship, we had plenty of places to hide from the current in. The lift bags were pulled directly horizontal when we deployed them from the deck of the wreck for the ride home, but we deployed them so early, because we wanted the captain to see us as soon as possible, because we knew we would be sailing pretty fast away from the wreck on the deco.
After we got on board, the captain informed us that by his calculations, we were diving in a 2 1/2 to 3 knot current!
Yup, current was a rippin'! Had been reading reports from the day before of the conditions so went there set up with my 60mm lens for a bit of versatility.
Thanks for the great time Kev & Alex.
