We just returned from the Cayman's, shore diving all week. Surface temp was 96F, heat index of 108, but the water temp was 84F. There were people diving in 5mm wet suits??? Locals were complaining the diving was off this summer with cooler water and poor vis. It looked and felt great to me.

By the time we head back to KL, late Sept or Oct, the heat wave should be over.
 
It has been in the mid 80's here in Broward for weeks it seems.
But we had an upwelling of some kind, and I experienced water temps of 76° deep and 82° shallow today.
