Driving down to Pompano to go down to the Capt. Dan on Thursday. Hate to drive all the way down there for a 17 minute dive, so I'm doing a drift dive after. Here's what I've found on the wreck so far.

"CAPTAIN DAN" wreck. 65' deck 110' bottom. 175' Ex-USCG buoy tender, "Hollyhock", . Launched on March 24, 1937. Originally with steam engines. From 1946 to 1958 the Hollyhock was maintaining aids to navigation in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Then to Sturgeon Bay as an ice breaker. 1962 arrived at Miami's port. In March 31, 1982 was purchased by a missionary and renamed to the "Good News Missionship" Going from port to port spreading the Gospel. Due to mechanical problems she became stranded in the Miami river. With funding from the Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo the ex-tender was purchased to become an artificial reef. Renamed in memory of Cap't Dan Garnsey a well known Pompano Beach driftboat owner. Sunk on Feb.20, 1990. The wreck is a part of the Rodeo reef program. Nice penetration, Watch out for all kinds of cables and debris inside.

GPS 26, 13.13' N & 80, 03.99' W

Anyone have pics of this wreck?

haven't put anything up yet, but am planning a night dive off Hollywood. Interested?

What makes this a 17 minute dive....? Go Nitrox & a computer and you should be able to make 30+ minutes within NDL.
