Bramham is diving with much more tissue saturation that JStoddard...

Bramham... did you go get doppler on your hand?... what was your diagnosis and course of treatment?

Did two dives per day on 13th (4' deco; no deco), 14th (no deco) and 15th (6' deco; no deco), with one each on 16th and 17th (no deco). Then two 18th, one 19th, one 20th, two 21st, one 22nd (all no deco). One each on 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, two 30th, two 1st (all no deco). Two 3rd, two 4th, two 5th (all nitrox bottom mixes, deco on c.EAN80). Flew twice on 7 Dec, then two dives on 13th (trimix 10/21; then 6/27; both deco on EAN50), one 19th, one 20th, one 24th (all no deco).[/QUOTE]

can i ask what depths you were diving to? those are very deep mixes to be decoing out on EAN50.

Sure, trimix 10/21 was to a max depth of 54.0m for a total dive time of 50' and 6/27 was to max of 26.7m for total of 58' (nitrox top-up of earlier trimix twins). Switched to EAN50 at 22m on both dives.

Hi Bramham,

This thread seems to have considerably meandered from your original inquiry, which was, "Is there anything that I can do now?"

The symptom described appeared on Nov 17, about 7 weeks ago, and the last dive was Dec 24, about 2 weeks ago. As such, it is extremely unlikely that any chamber treatments would be conducted at this point.

Also, the tingling is described as "on and off, now mostly on." DCI-related paresthesias typically are constant; it is unusual for them or for
DCI-related pain to come and go, at least for more than a very brief time.

As an aside, often the best diagnostic indicator of DCI is a "test of pressure," (e.g., improvement or resolution of symptoms as a result of recompression treatment). Improvement or resolution (usually temporary) can also be experienced with deep/deco dives. Did the tingling show any changes during your subsequent tech dives?

Helpful?

Hi DocVikingo

This is indeed helpful!

I don't think that the paresthesia abated at all with the subsequent tech dives.

Seems OK now...and have done a few more non-deco dives since 24 December. Am trying to get fitter, which should help the cause!

Thanks much

Dan
