Wide open just before I ascend, but generally I close it when I'm on the bottom as I get into some strange positions when taking photographs.

On the surface I close it again and put some more air in.

I close it full or partially when I want to maintain a certain depth or position so the air dosent vent out making me then add more and wasting gas. Closed if I'm swimming at the surface or not going down.

wide open for me.

It depends on the dive and amount or air I need in the suit. Also, I have two suits. One with a Si tech valve and one with the Apeks. Usually I have the valve closed a couple clicks because I try to run minimal air in the suit. Once at depth I close it a few more. It's a simple matter to give it a twist open when I need to and pretty much instinctual at this point.

Usually about 3 clicks closed for me now

And when? And why? I recently finished my PADI Dry Suit certification and the use of the automatic setting on the dump valve really didn't get much air time. So I'm left curious: What setting do you use, when do you change, what do you change it to and why do you do all this?

wide open

A couple of clicks less than fully open during the dive. I close it on the surface at the end of the dive so that I can add extra air and give myself more mobility for getting up the boat ladder.
