Thanks celhalopod2, yeah was a great critter list. Seeing mototi is still high on my list. Little green shrimp and hairy shrimps the guides can find easily so just ask, they are minute though! Hairy octo that is a tough one to crack, I must have devoted 10 dives to looking just for that! Think maybe aug is better for octos in general. Pygmy squid saw two whole trip again difficult to find

Finally sorted a new comp out to edit my pics so will post a load in this thread soon.

Now we know your secret - pure passion + determination :)

Do you have any tips on seeing sargassum frogfish in Lembeh? They have been on my list for a long time. I almost jumped overboard when I saw a raft of sargassum in Raja. I am sure there would have been some in there (or at least so I have been told).

Saw one in Lembeh two years ago at the end of one dive (Air Bajo), but we didn't see where it was coming, it was already climbing and hiding around and behind my guide's BCD.
Photos didn't look too great with the Frogfish against a black background with a part of the Aqualung or Scubapro letters.

I saw my my first sargassum frogfish in Lembeh my last trip there...just watch all the piles of trash floating around! P3127282-3.jpg

The one I saw was like the one in the photo. It was at mawali wreck site in middle of strait where quite a lot of floating stuff is. It was a juvenile. They can be seen anywhere really. Sadly no photo as had handed my camera up at this point and bit of current it drifted away so just had to look!

Yes determination is the key. Well I had ticked off like 30 creatures in the first week so second week was devoted to the obscure! Still no hairy octo!

Sounds awesome!!! Great report and critter list!

Thanks pughio, Luko and ocdiver1 for the sargassam frogfish tips. I never thought to look in the floating trash but in Lembeh that makes perfect sense!

Here are some photos to go with report of some of the interesting critters found. Not pro standard but my best so far...
