I'm flying to Cebu in a few days. While there I'll be staying on Mactan Island for a week and Moalboal for a week. I plan on taking a few dive courses while there, but was wondering if there's any sites on land I should see also? Is there anything I should definitely see while diving from these two areas? Thanks for the help.

PM Cebudiver on this board and he can give you pointers (tell him I referred you ...hell he may even join you). As far as Mactan, if you want a little color, you've got to try the "end of the runway" for a local dining fare . If you're not adventurous, you can at least get a cold bear. Where is it? At the end of the runway.

Of course, if you want to go upscale, Shangri-la dining is okay. They've got a sea food restaurant right on the water.

For other sites, there's the site where Magellan fell to Lapu-lapu, a couple of Cebuano guitar factories/stores, watch a cock fight ....

As far as diving, you've got a lot of input by now.
