Trip to Lake Conroe Tx. any takers?

Planning a dive trip to Lake Conroe in Conroe Texas.
I understand the water is fairly clear with decent vis
and some interesting wildlife.
Anyone want to go?

What are your sources?

I would be really suprised if vis exceeded 5 feet. There are no designated dive spots, and it is primarily a pleasure boat lake. It used to be full of grass until TPWD goofed and stocked grass carp. They solved the grass problem a little too well.

Hi Hiram,

The email I took the photo's off of identified the crock as being in the west
end of Lake Conroe taken by a KTBS news helicopter, they may be wrong.
But that is one huge crock!

I can't think of anybody in the area who's mentioned having dived Lake Conroe. Having fished there, I wouldn't regard it as much of a dive site.

North central, just outside Louisville. I've made a few trips to
Florida in the winter months. Not as many as I would like!

I wouldn't bother with Conroe. If you want to dive a Texas lake, go to Travis in Austin - Windy Point is set up for diving, and there are actually things to see.
