I will be travelling to the T&C for Christmas this year. I will be on Provo at the Alexandra Resort on Grace Bay. I was hoping someone could offer some advice about dive outfits in the area and some quality dives to check out.

Caicos Adventures, probably is the most offered suggestion on this board for Provo. I have used them and am very happy with the quality of diving that we experienced.
There is a boat ride of 30 min. to West Caicos, the boat ride was really nice, the big Cat they have is very comfortable, the diving was excellent. We spent a week with Fifi (Caicos Adventures) and the only other boat that we saw was the T&C explorer liveaboard.

Oh yea, I also stayed at the Alexandria.

I'll second Caicos Adventures.... Very good operator. We dived West Caicos and it was absolutely great! I also did some diving on west point (west end of Providenciales) with another operator. Not nearly as good diving as west caicos..... The walls of west caicos are incredible... straight down......:D

Have fun!

On Jan. 5th I am booked on the Juliet which is a 12 passenger live aboard. She sails out of Provo. That's all I can tell you.

I was hopeing to hear from some unbiased person about this trip but I haven't found one yet. So it should be an adventure.:D

Hi Benncool,

The experience you will have on the Juliet depends greatly upon the other passengers, but in any event will not be the more traditional scuba liveaboard involving 4-5 dives a day at more challenging sites such as offered by the Turks & Caicos Explorer II and Turks & Caicos Aggressor II.

The Juliet serves non-divers as well and incorporates land-based touring, picnics and water activities other than scuba in it's schedule. Lots of time is sent sailing between destinations. You'll probably get a couple of morning dives at sites that are appropriate to the experience level of those onboard and which are convenient to the day's other activities. Try to dive the West Caicos area and Northwest Point off Provo.

Have fun.

Hi espruell,

You have a number of very good ops to chose among:

Caicos Adventures http://www.tcidiving.com/ Tell the owner, "Fifi," that I sent you and try to get on the smaller boat (The Hercules).

Big Blue http://www.bigblue.tc/

Provo Turtle Divers http://www.provoturtledivers.com/

Of course the sites you visit will depend upon such factors as where other divers on the boat want to go/have already been, dive conditions that day, scheduling, what the crew feels like doing, etc. However, IMHO the West Caicos/French Cay sites are on balance the best.

Have fun.

Well that is sad news. Hopefully we will have a boat full of divers and we will dominate the trip.
