About 3 inches long, hiding in a coral head at night in about 5m down:



And this is a pretty common starfish...so common I didn't write it in my log, as it happens.

The starfish is Choriaster granulatus.

The fish looks like an anthias. There are many different species, and with the sleeping color pattern likely different than their daytime pattern, I can't offer a guess as to which one it is.

Yep, its an anthias...the morphology is spot on. I have some other photos with these fish in them, so perhaps I can track down the species.
