Which Gato was out with you, Steve from the East Coast?
Talk about stripped, the Navy really took her down to her bones. To me it looks like you went aft to the after torpedo tube, if so her engines have been removed resulting in the wide open compartment. Am I reading that right?

This Gato was my dive partner John (west coast). The sub was stripped of most everything. I went aft first then towards the bow. On the way towards the bow, I passed the conning tower, it goes thru the main compartment. After this point, I found one more bulkhead, then the front torpedo tubes.

OK, I can see the route now. How tight was it around the periscope supports?
