underwater iPod?

I was up at ft Lauderdale World Water Sports yesterday, and couldn't believe what I saw.. an underwater housing for iPod! What an interesting idea. Just thought I'd bring that up. Of course, I think you should take it off for ascents because you should be listening for boats.

The Underwater housing for the ipod is submersible up to 10ft/3mm, not intended for diving.
It was designed for snorkelers and not divers and for people who do not want to get a expense item wet and damaged.

Lets hope that they never make a scuba unit. Can you imagine a diver not being able to hear a boat passing overhead or a sub surface signal from a fellow diver in trouble? Leave the tunes for the surface intervals and let the ocean provide the soundtrack for diving. My 2 cents.

Someone put a link in a post a few months ago for an underwater mp3 player.
I think it was only a couple hundred bucks,so they'll be everywhere.

I think there is a legitimate and safe use for these devices, the Tech diving folks can catch up on their podcasts (pod diver radio, scuba radio, BTR, etc) while hanging on the line doing their deco stops.
