Diving for Science - Level Two - Understanding Photography and Videography ($230) by Shawn O’Shea

Pre-requisite: Diving for Science Level One.

For many, capturing the underwater world is a great way to relive their dive experiences and share them with family and non-divers alike. Video and Photography are an obvious choice when it comes to capturing the moment underwater. With the advent of lower cost digital media for video or photography sometimes coming from the same camera source, underwater photo and video is in reach of most people. It is easy to transform your photography and video from land to underwater if you know the basics. This class covers the basics to start working towards a more professional finished product with photos or videos. It includes extensive buoyancy control exercises and the mechanics of underwater housings. Composition, blocking shots underwater and framing these shots accurately and correctly is included. The physics of underwater light immersion and magnification are technical details that with a clear understanding will make all the difference in they way you capture the images. This class is only part classroom and part in water with hands on underwater dive time to practice the skills learned in the classroom. This class will provide techiniques that will make your video or images powerful and techinically correct. Some tips and tricks will be shared to improve the student's personal development and creativity.

May 14th & 15th
