US Navy Diving Manual for Kindle

WHY would anyone take a Kindle underwater... or an iPod or a cell phone for that matter? I dive to see a world entirely different from the one topside and truly can't understand anyone's desire to do this. Why dive?

Because they were there for work, and now have an hour or two of deco standing on a platform midwater, and would otherwise be bored out of their skulls?

We used to bring paperback books. Read a page, tear it out.
