Hi guys,

i need comments/ reactions on underwater drinking/ rehydration systems... i saw them on leisurepro... both the SCUDA and the SEA PUMP are looking really interesting hehehehe

i don't really enjoy diving cotton mouth and this looks like a very good way to avoid it

i need your comments and input if i should get one...

anybody out there use or using one??? thanks!

I used a SCUDA in the Florida Keys several years back, when doing dives in excess of one hour. Sure it was nice, but the thing looks bloody ridiculous on your LPI hose and it's awkward as heck.

After receiving silly comments and jokes about it on a daily (if not hourly) basis, I eventually sucked it up and put it in storage. I keep telling myself I did it to "reduce drag".

Eventually I got used to doing long dives in warm water. Now I don't miss the thing at all.

I was recently at an IDAN meeting in So Africa attended by some local scientific divers who look for Coelacanths. They are usually found at 300+ ft. These guys always drank juice during deco believing, rightly so, that dehydration is an important contributor to DCS(other than diving that deep for too long of course). FrogFoot.
