I will be in Va beach the week of aug 16 and would like to consider a dive here. I would have to find a dive buddy though.

I'd recommend you post a new thread on this. You probably will have a much better chance of finding a buddy that way.
If you are planning a chartered boat dive, you won't have any trouble hooking up with a buddy in-situ. There will either be another buddy-less diver on the boat or a DM who will pair up with you.

As always, I enjoy reading of the knowledge of some of you guys! I`m wanting to do a simpler dive through lynhaven soon. Wreck reel will be bought after this reading. As for the rest of thermal etc. Im all set and have all my gear. Looking for someone experienced to do a dive with. Just certified a couple weeks back. Baby steps.......
