My unmarked is a 6"... this marked one is a 12"er

Come to think of it I remember seeing one of these teeth or is that tooth on the sign post at the edge of the beach when I went there on my own thought it was kind of neat that someone had gone to the trouble of making a "sign" so that anyone comming for the first time to look for teeth would know they had the right beach.
When I returned from my searching I had forgotten all about it until reading the last few post here,it never occured to me to swipe it for my collection.
Happy and safe searching guys,I will have to keep my hand in by placing some of my teeth in my pool at night and diving for them with my eyes closed.

We'll be there Sunday around 8, that is if Colin can be on time :D

Me... ontime? That depends on if the boys and Kris are joining us.... if its me, always on time, if they join, it could be 3 hours different.

UB - the Morgan specials are all marked with a # and the initials WC which stands for Water Closet Productions... his wife won't let him make casts outside of the bathroom, thus they are made in the WC :)

Actually the ones to take are the ones underwater. He's kinda like a fake meg Johnny Appleseed. I like to leave the one on the sign.

Tanks are topped out... 2400# in my twins, didn't bother to update the mix, just added air to the top.. works out to a 27.4% nitrox.. the MOD is..well.. lets just say its a monster of a deco stop!

Anyone care to find a meggie tomorrow?

Ok... I set my alarm for PM instead of AM, and woke up at 8:30 AM.

Apology to those who wanted to meet there.

I did make it by 10:00 AM and made the first dive on 1/2 tank.

Vis - 12-15
Slight Current
Temp 87 F (Water... who cares about temp above water)
Found teeth

Dive 2 - Dive flag plucked from the water by police
Actually, I thought a boater was way to close based on the way I was hugging the bottom.

Felt the tugging the first time, and brought my flag in closer... heard the sound of the engine click into gear, then click out of gear and felt the tugging again. I was ready to RIP SOMEONE A NEW ONE!

Turns out Tow US was there to drag the beached sailboat away. Police were worried that I was in the way of the pull and wanted me to drift north... no big deal, but it's a good thing he didn't check my lobster bag

In all, I found 5 megs and a ton of teeth.

My normal method is to cull teeth on the bottom and only take the bigger/better ones, but I decided to take all I found today and cull them at the car.

Those teeth I didn't like... I took them out to the beach area and spread them around for drylanders to find.

Here are the pics (Golden Meg is 3.5")

I'll be there with the son tomorrow. Deciding whether to dive the HP 133s, or stick with the 80s

We found we get 3.5- 4 hours on a single 133... So, here is my

We are heading down in the morning. We are going to have to stop and rent some tanks and gear for the wife and Florida West so we probably won't hit the beach until at least 9:30. Hope to catch up with you all there.

Cooltech, the last picture (and I think one of the ones you're referring to as a meg) is a hemi (snaggletooth). It's the one just above the golden meg. My second favorite kind of tooth.

Also, looks like maybe a mako in the upper center of the small teeth. Got a better pic of that?

Nice finds.

I hope Sunday is as nice as Saturday was. Visibility was again over 10ft, current was light and life was abundant. I paddled a little farther than usual and dropped into a little oasis full of small tropicals and invertebrate. I think most of the fish from that spot followed me around for almost three hours, the usual runt suspect tried my thumb for taste. First time wishing for a camera during a fossil hunt.

It was so much fun the 2thing was almost neglected. The visibility was a good excuse to do a little wider surveying, and on the way to the small tooth beds I found my first significant meg, a 3" (even without the missing tip.) Totaled about 80 assorteds for the dive.

At one point I thought I had a baby dinosaur femur in my hot little hand. It took a few moments to sort out I was fondling a chicken thigh. It might have been fossilizing for a month or two.

The wind was turning a little south at dive's end, and back on the beach I caught just a whiffa IT. Winds are back to east overnight, maybe that will keep IT at bay for a few more days. Winds for the morning are still easterly and predicted to be less than today.
