Hey we are stuck on this fossil divin! I guess it is better than not diving!

Anyway a few of us want to go back to Venice for the really big one!

We would like to try the public beach area this time. Any comments?

So plan on meeting at the Public beach area and ready to dive at 9:00 AM.

CAn anyone comment about sweet spots at the beach area?

No fried turkey this time!

Anyone interested? There are about 5 of us divers coming from Lakeland.

I'm always interested in diving :D. I'll see how this weekend turns out.

I possibly may have to show up on Sunday if I'm still able to fit into my wetsuit.

I'll check at an LDS website they have links for weather conditions. I think the station is at the Pier and gives live updates. I'll report back with info.

As far as a different location if you go to the south side of the main beach there is a small parking area that is a favorite for divers, I see groups there all the time.

Or, you can head down past Harbor Dr. past the Alhambra site add either stop off at the Pier or go past about another 1/4 mile and there is another parking lot on the right. I think it's called Bowhard beach or something like that.

I have been to this beach and it's pretty nice easy walk over the sea grass, has restrooms and showers.

The Pier has a restuarant with good food.

I'll go check the forecast now.....

WAlter it won't be the same without you! I hope you got your package. If you can stop by to say hello stop by.

We have 4-5 divers and some beachcomers.

We will be at the South parking lot of the public beach. I have a big green van.

Hope to see you then!

Right now it say From the north- north east at 9 MPH
Could make for a sucky dive.
If you go have fun.
I'll take lots of pics If I get to dive in Nassau.

Fred, I agree with you. The wind direction will be the biggest concern. Of course then there is the cold front that is passing thro on Saturday and dropping temps (read water temps) like crazy.
From NOAA's website, Ft. Myers
FOR MARINE INTERESTS...BRISK NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 KNOTS OVER THE ADJACENT GULF WATERS WITH SEAS BUILDING TO 6 TO 8 FEET BY LATER TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY AND SMALL CRAFT ADVISORIES WILL LIKELY BE REQUIRED BY TONIGHT THROUGH
SATURDAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY:

COLD HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING IN OVER THE NORTHERN GULF WILL SUPPORT CLEAR SKIES WITH DECREASING WINDS FOR SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING. THIS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES OVER THE NATURE COAST TO FALL
TO NEAR OR JUST BELOW THE FREEZING POINT DURING SUNDAY MORNING
...WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 40S ELSEWHERE.

That's scuba_jenny's job, hahaha!!!

But seriously folks, weather is not looking to good for Sunday. Even if the seas are OK the Temps are dropping quick and the Gulf Temp will be lower than last week. Brrrrrrrr!!!!!

I will not likely show up for this one..... Anne, if it's not to late you may want to reschedule also

Check this out, I copied it from NWS.
