I've got a Veo250 that has been pretty reliable for many years now but yesterday when getting ready to dive it was started up and flashed CAL after the countdown and then shut off. I cannot find anything in the manual about it but I am assuming it stands for calibrate. Has anyone experienced this? Is it something I can take care of by removing/replacing the battery? Any help would be appreciated.

There's nothing in the manual. I'd call Oceanic out in California. toll-free: (800) 435-3483phone: (510) 562-0500 (Mon - Fri: 8am - 5pm, Pacific Time)

Good idea Jim. And I've seen the issue with battery brands as well. Energizer was right there with Duracell in the not being liked category.
