SDOF: "Ocean in Motion" Program
Our oceans are facing a devastating ego-crises, and not just in the Gulf of Mexico, but right here on our very own shores of San Diego.
The Roddenberry Dive Team has teamed up with The San Diego Oceans Foundation's "Ocean in Motion" program.
Our combined concern is that children may not recognize the need for protecting and preserving our oceans. We know why it's important, but do the children of our community? What better way to preserve the future of our oceans than to make sure the next generation is educated in how and why.
As an RDT member what can you do about it?
By volunteering to help educate the children of San Diego about the fundamentals of how marine organisms, their habitats and water quality are interconnected. We can have profound influence on helping them become environmental stewards through fun, hands on activities and a science-based curriculum. And this can only be accomplished with your help.
There are many dates available to fit even the most active schedule, as this is an ongoing program to reach as many children from all socioeconomic walks of life.
