if the rumored price is correct, it will put serious competition into the mid range market. resale value of the older non-AI shearwaters may take a hit too.

There is a thread about this over in the computers subforum. You could go there and post links to any rumors you’ve heard... hint, hint...
 
@stuartv I have been told not to post any more of the information before the official unveiling. I already had two posts of mine removed.
 
If there is no AI I am not interested!

For marketing it would be a good move. A lot of people who want a more basic computer would be interested in a basic lower cost computer with Shearwater reputation.
 
A recreational Mask Hud computer with AI would be something I would buy in the next 6 months as long as it would support at least 2 transmitters, 3 would be better for light deco.

Have you considered potential impact of battery drain when you leave those stages in the cave primed during either long penetrations or in setup dives over multiple dives/days?
