HI all!
I have been doing a little light reading for a friend of mine on a ship his Dad was on in WWII. And I picked up on the fact that the USS Enterprise is due to be decommissioned in 2013.
A lot of people would like to make this a museum ship...but it turns out that after the navy pulls all of the Big E's nuclear reactors a great deal of the ships infrastructure will be cut away. virtually everything two decks below the hangar bay would have to be cut apart. Enterprise may also enter the Ship-Submarine Recycling Program as stated on Wikipedia.
So this being said would it not be cool to start a fund, find a place and sink this ship?
It would be an awesome feat if the Diver's of ScubaBoard found away to do this.
Happy Diving!
