Just some advise.....Monterey diving is worlds different than diving warm water like in the Caribbean....Monterey is very cold 52 and colder I have seen it as low as 35 degree's, there is current, low viz, extreme depth in some places, could be surge, waves, kelp, 7mm exposure suit, hood, gloves, booties, cold water fins and lots of weight and that's on a very good calm day.....if you have only been diving in warm water you most likely are not ready to dive Monterey....maybe you could do a day lesson with an instructor that would be a great plan. People have been injured and or died thinking they can only dive warm water and transition to dive Monterey with out any specific training. Rule of thumb if you can dive Monterey you are a very good diver and will not have any problem sport diving anywhere in the world....if your still not sure at least talk to a responsible dive master or instructor in a Monterey dive shop...suggestion DON'T dive Monastery Beach aka (Mortuary Beach).......Good luck.
