I have a question ill be doin alot fo summer dive in lake michigan and i was windering what thickness i should go. I have had some say 5 and some say 7mm.

The way I see it... Go thicker.. If you need to dive colder, the option is there. If you do get hot, you can always open a zipper.

werd just checkin done wanna spend money of somethin im not gonna use

I would say 7mm....

I own a 3mm and a 7mm, along with a hooded vest. With that combo, I don't need a 5mm suit. At least in the White River Basin, it is either adequate or freakin cold, nothing in between.

well i heard right now its about 47-50 deg in 40ft in lake michigan.

With temps in the high 40's I recommend a 7mm. I've been diving in temps down to 46 and as high as 76 in my 7mm and was quite comfortable. Personally, anything below 65 I wear my 7mm hood, gloves, and boots. If your boots are not 7mm buy neoprene socks. They're generally 2mm.
