Whale Sharks snorkeling & Cenotes diving in Mexico

Trip report to Mexico

Holbox Island;
I was able to encounter Whale Sharks here and swan with it very easily.
As you may know, they migrate here from June till September hence snorkeling tours have been conducted eveyday from the Holbox. The tour information is available all around the Island so subscriptions are made very easily at any hotels. The Island is located at the east end of Yukatan peninsula. It takes 3 hours and 20min. from Cancun bus terminal to Chiquila by bus then 25min. boat ride.

Cenotes;
You can participate awesone cavern diving in calcareous cave area from Playa Del Carmen nearby Cancun. You have to dive there to see the very special scenery. Open water certification is just needed.

You can join Whales Sharks Snorkeling as day-trip tour from Cozume, Playa Del Carmen and Camcun.
The departure time is 3am/4am/5am respectively.

I heard there was a whale shark in Mikomoto a couple days after I was there!
