Cool video. I've seen that sort of thing before in Maui, but generally for only about 1/2 as long as an eruption. I've always assumed it was some sort of tube worm or perhaps a clam, but my digging expeditions have never uncovered anything.

I did, however, provide some amusement for the divers that came by at Ulua while I was kneeling on the sand, with one fin in my hand, using it as a shovel. :)
 
What diameter was the hole? I am thinking some type of digging shrimp as there is an awful lot of debris being piled out.
