As a Mod it's my job to point these things out to people. Frequently members don't read the dates on the msgs, or they would realize that they are posting to a dormant or dead thread.

Then why the flames and verbal lashings (including from some of the mods) when someone asks a question or makes a post that has more or less been asked or made half a dozend thread pages earlier ?

Maybe you mods ought to make up your minds among yourselves and let us know. As Dave pointed out, you can easily close a dormant thread and we simply start all over.
