I consider it a good year when my take home earnings exceeded the costs of my insurance and dues.

Everything else, especially the intangibles, is just bonus.

Pirates = a rag tag group of so-called commercial fisherman and other people doing stuff on the water (smuggling) that would sometimes try and steal my gear, run me over, cut my flags, etc.

they were jealous that I had a better catch in 3 hours diving than they di in 8 hours raking or tonging (hard work). But they didnt see all the work I had pre and post dive that more than made up the time.

Wow, just incredible how people will act. Any chance you could get support from local police? Does it happen often enough that they could surveil your diving and catch them in the act? It sounds like they've endangered your life to some extent.
