when using a spool and attaching to a SMB at depth how is the loop tied to the bag ?

I see the use of the double ender for securing the spool end after deployment but wondering how to quickly tie off the cord to the SMB without too much task loading (or do you use two double enders )

The easiest way to do it is to put a loop in the end of the line about 6 inches in diameter using a figure-of-eight or figure-of-nine knot. Then you can pass the loop through a D-ring or strap on the bag and then pass the spool or reel through the loop to secure it to the bag.

I agree, figure eight knot. I had a clip, took it off. Make sure the loop is large enough.

cool thanks guys - often the simplest is the best.

I got into knot paralysis as I couldn't figure out which rockclimbing one was easiest !!

... a simple loop ... who would have thought !!!
