Sheesh!!!

I must be some kind of colossal failure (go ahead and make the joke, you know you want to). I never developed any decent buddy skills until I started doing technical dives and the other divers went all "Grandpa Walton" on me after a few disappearances on my part.

... at a tech level, if you disappeared on me, we'd never dive together again. That would definitely qualify as a colossal failure ...

Lucky for me that my mentors didn't give up on me after a couple of failures. They ended up teaching me a great deal and are now my closest friends. We did a lot a diving together prior to me going tech and they knew my diving skills and habits. That still did not stop them from chewing a hole clear through my arse afterwards though. They definitely got the point through to me.
