Hi, I am about to order some surgical tubing to bungie my backup regulator (i've been using one of those pre-made things, lost it following my last dive and frankly I hated it anyway) but I don't know what the best size would be... is 1/8 too small?

Additionally, how much "slack" do you like in your necklace for your backup reg?

Thanks!

I use either 3/16" or 1/4" bungee. I don't like a lot of slack, but want the cord itself to be easily stretched around my head.

You want the necklace to be long enough so that the reg isn't bumping your chin, but short enough so that, in a pinch, you could dip your head and pick the reg up without your hands. It can be hard to accomplish that, so getting close may be good enough.

Can't advise you on the surgical tubing. I use 1/8" bungie.
