myself and my buddies have scubapros
s-600's and 550's

at the moment the water temps are low 40's and we have been having problems with free flows

i am not interested in debating the merits of the scubapros but need advice on bechmarks to "detune" them to for this type of diving.

i understand that making the intermediate pressure 120-125 is advisable but is there an inspiratory pressure to shoot for??

usually we have been adjusting it to 3/4 to 1 cm of h20 on the bench

any recommendations??
other things to do?

thanks

I wouldent bother de-tuning them just be a little more aware of doing things to cause the free flow.

When to the regs freeflow? befor the dive, during or after?

Most of the issues I have had with my SP regs freeflowing in the same water temps are that the reg seats were not sealing properly. Play with the cracking pressure and you should find that you can end the free flow.

When readjusting the IP's of a Scubapro first stage, its wise to also adjust the second stage after you adjust the first (actually, its wise for most regs). Your second stages might also be a little on the sensitive side as well. An IP of 125 or 130 should be OK.

happened to one of the guys at 90 ft, 40 degrees

the other was at the end of the dive at 20 feet

i had my first while airsharing with the first but we could reopen his tank at that time. when he went back to his own reg my freeflow stopped

our ip's are about 140 and the cracking pressure usually starts at 3/4 - 1

we'll start with dropping the int pressure to 125 and be more concious about adjusting the 600's up pre-dive

thanks
