We are booked on the Nekton in Belize Oct 20-27. We decided to stay a few extra days. The jungle lodges are pretty pricey to get to but has anyone ever stayed at the Belize zoo lodges? They have good prices. Any suggestions?

We booked a package with Windy Hill Resort. It was all inclusive of transportation, tours, and meals, and worth every penny as far as we were concerned. The resort is owned by an American who married a Belizian, so it's run very well (not "island" time). We had our own little cabin with a hammock and incredible views over the valley. It was extremely clean, the food was very good, the service was excellent, and our guides were absolutely outstanding. They aren't "cheap", but you get a lot for the money.

Thanks but that is way out of budget for us

Have not done the Zoo lodges, but did do a place called Martz farm that was interesting. Tree house built completely in a tree over a small waterfall completely open to the jungle. No electricity, no running water - except the creek below. Horseback riding, a guided tour through the jungle down a cliff (that scared the **** out of me) and then up the river. He is Belizian she is German - not for everyone but an interesting adventure.
