I'm going to be in New Orleans a few days next month and though it would be grand to try and do a dive while I was in town. Any suggestions? Ideally something from the shore where I could get in and out quick so it isn't an all day event.

I did some preliminary research, got my best bud living in NOLA, and it appears if you do shore diving you go head to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Louisiana doesn't have a coast that is scuba "friendly." But there are a lot of platforms that one can dive around. It's best to talk with one of the dive shops in NOLA (actually Metairie).
