some are welded in, some are flange compression fittings. If that one is welded then a $100 bladder replacement is no big deal and you can do it at home. Takes like 5 minutes to undo the inflator and dump, unzip, then stuff the new one back in

really? All the eclipses I've seen and used have been on the inside of the wing around the center panel on the backplate side of the wing

what tbone said, all eclipse wings should have zipper. If you want, you can buy H bladder from ebay. There are a few for sale now. DIY bladder replacement takes 5 minutes assuming you really have a Eclipse wing (with zipper)

Maybe it is something else. I got it used as a full kit... I was told it is an eclipse

The guy at halcyon said I can send it to him, I may just do that and figure it out from there

It sounds like it might be an old Pioneer. They didn't have internal bladders.

After some research it looks like I have an old broken pioneer wing... So back to my original question. Should I go with a halcyon wing or does it make sense to buy a cheaper wing? Is Halcyon worth the extra cost?

Got a picture?

Anyways, to the original question........there are several wings that are in the same league as halcyon. Oxycheq is one, Agir-brok and DeepSeaSupply. Most of the others (Diverite, HOG, Apeks, Scubapro etc) are all just fine if arguably "one step down" from the others. I would much rather pay less for a DSS or Oxycheq wing than Halcyon. I've had a lot of wings......a lot of wings. All of the ones I've mentioned and many more, consistently Oxycheq, DSS and Halcyon have the best construction and design. Just my 2 PSI.
