Users asked us to not screw with the "Classic" so we won't.

How is providing info classified as "screwing with the classic?" Especially, since the info was once provided. Seems like removing that info is "screwing with the classic." The choice of have the left side of the screen cluttered or don't get the info (especially when the info isn't even in the clutter on the left side) is an odd one to have to make.

Which users have told you they don't want to see full profiles? People who don't want to see profiles, don't look at profiles. Which users have said they don't want to see number of logged dives under posters location? I believe lots of incorrect assumptions are being made. Why not ask users of the classic skin if they want more info w/o the left side clutter?

the "Classic" is the template as given to us by vBulletin. We had started to play with it, but users like yourself complained that it was not the "Classic" anymore. We reverted back to the unadulterated template so that the largest number of users can access ScubaBoard.

Put it this way... we have a guy diving in period. He has his double hose. He has his beavertail and duck feet... but he is wearing a contemporary full face mask so he can see more. Well... it's not fully period is it? Same here... we are keeping the classic template as close to the original as possible. It works and it's simple. If you want fancy, we have that too.

Walter,
I think the point here is that you've made a good suggestion and Pete is explaining what has been done in the past and why. This doesn't mean your suggestion won't be included in the future, it simply isn't part of the plan right now. At least that's my take on it.
